Chief Financial Officer & Vice President of Business Modeling

Reporting to the President & CEO, the CFO/VPBM will be responsible for the financial integrity of the organization’s business entities including Canada, Europe, and other new markets currently being established. The CFO/VPBM will be instrumental in assessing financial growth opportunities in new markets and measuring profitability of our aggressive product pipeline. The CFO/VPBM will be a key member of the Executive Team, collaborating with other members in the vision setting, development and achievement of strategic initiatives.

Working with the President & CEO and the Executive Team, the CFO/VPBM will enhance operational and financial KPI’s in support of DMT’s growth. The CFO/VPBM will be instrumental in conducting business modeling and writing business cases to support growth initiatives for market expansion and new product development. In addition, the CFO/VPBM will establish a financial reporting framework designed to support the strategic vision of the company.

Key Responsibilities

The CFO/VPBM will:

  • Have accountability of the organizations’ financial integrity including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, ensuring proper controls and procedures are in place
  • Develop business cases and assess return on investment for existing and new corporate initiatives, including product development, and organizational growth
  • Oversee human capital investments across all jurisdictions
  • Manage an experienced finance team to create monthly interim financial reports, quarterly financial statements, and prepare financial records for year-end auditors
    • Set strategy to prepare annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance reporting to budget/forecasts on a monthly basis
    • Provide coaching support to senior management team, corporate account managers, and regional managers in defining financial goals and KPI’s within their specific areas
    • Establish and present monthly reviews to the President & CEO and members of the Executive Team on the financial health of each operating entity as part of on-going business management
    • Review existing financial systems, and lead the evolution or replacement of said systems as the organization’s growth places increased demands on this infrastructure
    • Understand DMT’s products, services and processes in order to exercise due diligence on the team’s financial management practices
    • Learn, understand, and contribute to DMT’s corporate culture and maintain that culture in all operations
    • Provide leadership, mentorship through coaching, motivating and education.
      • Prepare quarterly reviews with the Board of Directors
      • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, bankers, auditors, colleagues and employees
  • Travel as required within North America and Europe (low frequency)

Qualifications and Required Experience

  • 10+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in the areas of finance, market expansion analysis, and/or business modeling to support R&D investment analysis
  • 5+ years in a senior or executive leadership position that includes establishing detailed financial reports and KPIs for all business units
  • Proven track record that demonstrates meaningful participation for defining, executing, and monitoring the successful implementation of strategic plans
  • Strong understanding of reoccurring or SaaS revenue models
  • Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, with strong organizational abilities
  • Superior written, spoken, comprehension and presentation skills

Other Experiences Considered an Asset

  • Experience working within an Information Technology (“IT”) domain
  • Experience as CFO or COO
  • Experience in sales
  • Experience in international business
  • Experience with implementing and migrating to new financial systems/packages
  • General understanding of leading financial systems
