WINNIPEG (May 2, 2012) – DMT Development Systems Group Inc. is expanding its headquarters with a new testing laboratory and new office space that will help improve productivity and enhance innovation at one of the world’s leading developers of information systems for the auto industry.
The new 3,500 square foot (325 square metre) space in the University of Manitoba SMARTPARK facility will accommodate up to an additional 15 employees when it is completed in June. The new space will house the testing laboratory, which tests and refines new products on a wide variety of commercial computer software and hardware before the products are released for sale. The space will also include a new office facility, an enlarged boardroom, a kitchen and other facilities.
It is the first expansion on this site since DMT relocated to the current building in 2005. Earlier this year, the company opened a Toronto office and in 2011 introduced a new office in Paris.
“The auto industry is enjoying a welcome recovery in North America and continues to be strong in markets like China, while markets like Europe are in challenging times,” says DMT president Glen Demetrioff. “Wherever they’re located, auto manufacturers and their dealers need new management tools to help them market more effectively when times are good and to help save resources when things are lean. That means demand for our products has steadily expanded and we need to expand to meet that demand.”
The new lab will expand the company’s ability to run the myriad of tests necessary to ensure its sophisticated systems work seamlessly with new and existing computer systems, and with the next generation of smart phones consumers use as shopping tools.
DMT serves global and Canadian-based auto manufacturers and their dealers with specialized and sophisticated systems that share information among companies, dealers and customers while improving lead management, customer relations management and their related business processes. A privately held company, DMT has posted double digit growth since its inception and employs more than 85 people at its headquarters on the campus of the University of Manitoba and at an office in Paris, France. Additional customer service personnel work directly with the clients in their locations. A new DMT office opened in Toronto earlier this year.
