WINNIPEG (August 30, 2013) – A leading-edge on-line service for news media created by DMT Development Systems Group Inc. has earned Nissan Europe a prestigious International Business Award.
Nissan Europe will be presented the Gold Stevie Award trophy for the Best On-line Press Room at the International Business Awards presentation in Spain in October. An innovative, sophisticated and powerful service for Europe’s business and automotive media, the Nissan Europe digital newsroom bested entries from the U.S., Korea, Argentina and elsewhere in two rounds of judging by an international panel.
The site, http://www.newsroom.nissan-europe.com, was first created in 2010 and given a comprehensive renovation last year to permit Nissan Europe to keep up with fast-paced changes sweeping the news-gathering business. Simple, visually compelling and easy to navigate, the revised site has sophisticated search capability that permits users to focus on both the area of interest and the format of the material.
“The award is gratifying because it recognizes Nissan Europe’s dedication to innovation, and to keeping ahead of the trends that are shaping both communications and the entire auto industry,” says DMT president Glen Demetrioff. “When the Nissan Europe digital newsroom was first introduced in 2010, there wasn’t nearly the emphasis on social media there is today. In a very short time, the emergence of social media as a powerful tool for conventional media has demanded an innovative response from anyone working in this space. Nissan Europe saw the need and moved quickly to answer it.”
DMT is a pioneer in the establishment and evolution of media information sites for the auto industry. Today, most major car companies deploy some version of a unique site for media information. The development of news media information sites complements DMT’s core business of creating centrally-controlled, easily administered information systems designed to share data between car dealers and the companies.
The International Business Awards are one of the world’s premier business awards programs. All individuals and organizations worldwide – public and private, for-profit and non-profit, large and small - are eligible to submit nominations. The 2013 IBAs received entries from more than 50 nations and territories.
Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for “crowned,” the awards will be presented to winners at a gala awards banquet at the W Hotel in Barcelona, Spain on 14 October.
DMT serves the global auto industry with specialized and sophisticated systems that share information among companies, dealers and customers while improving lead management, customer relations management and their related business processes.
